Apple has released an update to its MacBook Pro line. This is about a year after they released their last update. There seems to be not many differences in the exterior appearance of the new MacBook Pro in general.

The new features are:

  • Thunderbolt- This is new. From Intel’s Light Peak technology, Thunderbolt allows you to connect basically all outputs, displays, external hard drives, etc. It is a bit like USB 2.o but unlike USB 2.0 speed of 480 Mbps(0.48 Gbps), Thunderbolt has speeds up to 10 Gbps!!
  • 2X Faster Processors- Intel i5 and i7 processors.
  • 3X Faster Graphics- With Intel’s HD 3000 graphics processors.
  • FaceTime, HD- FaceTime is now in HD. They have managed to cram a HD camera that is thinner than the iPhone’s!
  • SDXC slot – can handle more SD cards.
  • Double speed DVD burning.
  • Anytime, Anywhere access – you can now share your 3G internet connection form your iPhone with your MacBook Pro!

The 13″ starts at $1,199, the 15″ starts at $1799 and the 17″ starts at $2,499.
